Great River Race
Saturday July 23, 2011
The Great River Race is a traditional race at Riverton Yacht Club. In the past it started at night and went to Burlington-Bristol Bridge and then to the Ben Franklin Bridge. Recently, Bob Corney has organized the race to go to one or the other bridge. Has made it a much better race for all concerned, and all the boats start at different times (based on PHRF rating) so they finish at about the same time. It has become a really fun race, except this race was on Saturday, July 23rd and it was about 100 degrees and it appears little wind. (Appears that the wind did pick up some during the race).
The photos are by Mary (Mel) McMichael from the deck of Bob Corney's J-22 "ENCORE"
