"Farragut Collects 101 years of its History"
In 2007 Farragut Sportsmen’s Association will celebrate its 100th anniversary. We are asking the boating community along the Delaware River for photographs and artifacts from Farragut’s past.
As part of our celebration, we plan to put together a book detailing its history. Memorabilia will be collated and displayed in our museum, said Ron Blackeby, chairman of the Anniversary Committee.
Farragut played an important part in protecting the Delaware River industrial waterfront during WWII. The Coast Guard Auxiliary used Farragut as a base. Farragut continues today as an active member and founder of Delaware River Yachtsmen’s League and the C.B.Y.C.A.
For more information about submitting memorabilia or to become involved, please call Ron Blackeby at 856-829-8332 or Dick Roel at 856-742-1251.
