Finish reinforcement on up-river side of pier and remove lifting boat davits from the old place on the dock. The existing davits are to be rebuilt and remounted on the edge of the new pier. A fellow club member mentioned to me how unusual it was to have everything off the pier (usually we leave floats and more recently boats for winter storage). He reminded me that the members replaced rotten timbers on the pier during the 1960's and everything had to be off the pier then. Before that, I believe that the members moved the club house off the end of the pier to it's present location, but I have never seen any documentation of those efforts. Are we planning a yearbook to document this rebuilding process of the pier (maybe as a handout to visitors along with a walking tour of historical Riverton)?
